A Secure Company

Through 50 years of service, FPS GOLD has never had a single security breach. FPS GOLD sets a top priority on software and hardware security, as well as on professional data backup and disaster recovery procedures. Our backup systems use the most current technology available, and data is literally stored in a granite mountain vault, which features a dry, environment-controlled facility ideal for long-term storage.

Financially, FPS GOLD is a very secure company, never having had one layoff in its entire history. As the company continues to grow, the building has also grown, recently adding more than 30,000 square feet to its main office. FPS GOLD has seen competitors come and go since its inception in 1964, stability few other companies can boast.

History

FPS GOLD has its roots in the dairy industry. Bliss Crandall, widely known as the “father of computerized dairy records,” created the first high-tech software company in Utah County in the early 1950s, called Dairy Herd International, or DHI.

The company’s reputation generated enormous interest from the banking industry. In 1964, DHI's work caught the attention of Deseret Federal Savings and Loan, which approached DHI about processing financial data. Eventually, a Salt Lake City medical clinic requested medical data services from DHI. Thus the company's second and third divisions were formed, Financial Processing Systems (FPS) GOLD and Healthcare Processing Systems (HPS), which was later sold. Eventually DHI started a new healthcare division known today as PCIS GOLD. With three divisions, DHI organized the parent company, DHI Computing Service, Inc. and designated DHI-Provo as the herd management division.

In 2005, FPS GOLD found itself in the enviable position of having an abundance of business in core banking and new business from the consumer finance industry. Naturally, DHI Computing Service, Inc., created a new division, GOLDPoint Systems, that focuses on the consumer finance industry, while FPS GOLD concentrates on the banking industry. FPS GOLD was able to utilize newfound technological philosophies and ideas taken from the consumer finance market, and bring them to the commercial banking market.

From the punch-card tabulators of yesterday to the high-speed world of computers, telecommunications, and now the Internet, FPS GOLD has been and always will be at the forefront of data processing technology.
