Training & Learning Resources

- Scheduled Online Classes
FPS GOLD University offers online classes (using WebEx) on a variety of system — and application-related subjects. A class schedule is posted on the FPS GOLD secure Web site each quarter.
- Online Class Recordings
Missed a class? No problem. FPS GOLD University classes are recorded and published on our secure Web site for new employees or for refresher training.
- Web-based Multimedia Training
Multimedia training on the Web provides a variety of FPS GOLD system and application lessons for basic and advanced self-paced learning and review. Selected training is also published in conjunction with Quarterly Release Updates.
- Quarterly Release Updates
FPS GOLD University offers an online forum to introduce enhancements included in each quarterly software release. Your institution benefits by receiving release documentation and previewing new and/or updated functionality.
- Directions Conference
Directions is the FPS GOLD annual client-training conference that provides valuable networking opportunities, informative classes, personalized labs, and group forums on current and future product development.

GOLDStarSM Evaluation Service
With GOLDStar, Clients will learn how they can optimize FPS GOLD product performance within their institution. This service begins with the assignment of a customized evaluation team consisting of product experts from the major application areas: Deposits, Loans, and Accounting. More Details >>
Utilizing the following services, the GOLDStarSM evaluation team will assess and report areas of strengths and weaknesses, and then propose actions which can improve upon all areas.
The GOLDStarSM service package consists of:
- A pre-visit checklist to aid in understanding and focusing on you specific operations and business environment.
- Onsite interviews with key supervisory personnel. The evaluation team will use a prepared script to determine and evaluate the level of product implementation and usage within the organization.
- Onsite contact with specific employees to observe practical application of FPS GOLD® products in daily work setting.
- A meeting with the CEO and other senior management to conclude the evaluation process. The meeting also serves to clarify strategic plans and other relevant issues encountered during the evaluation.
- A final written report of the evaluation, including recommendations applicable to your operation and strategic directions. An optional questionnaire for your personnel to determine specific training needs.
- An optional certification program. Employees could enroll in FPS GOLD classes, or review study material in the online FPS GOLD® University Learning Center, then certify at various levels of expertise.

Network Control Center (NCC)
FPS GOLD's Network Control Center (NCC) is engineered to provide our clients with superior technical support. NCC is staffed with highly-skilled professionals, trained specifically in the implementation of FPS GOLD products. More Details >>
Since our network was designed and built solely by NCC staff, our engineers are uniquely qualified to support your systems. As an FPS GOLD client, you'll be assigned an NCC professional to design a system tailored to your institution, configured to minimize costs without compromising performance.
The Network Control Center is staffed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.(MT), and is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The same staff that builds and designs your institution's network will monitor and maintain it for you. They will also ensure your questions are answered. You'll get the service you need, anytime, with a single phone call.

Disaster Recovery

Our annually updated Contingency Plan is one of the most advanced and reliable in the nation, implementing unparalleled strategies to help you continue business as usual in the event of an emergency.
At FPS GOLD, we limit the potential for data loss by creating magnetic tapes of all client data files every business day, Monday through Saturday. These tapes are then transported to a secure granite vault in the mountains east of Salt Lake City. In addition, our disaster recovery contract with IBM guarantees that everything from the mainframe computer to the communications equipment, phone lines, and printers will be up and configured to our specifications within 24 hours of declaring a disaster.
Each year, FPS GOLD conducts a disaster recovery test at one of the IBM host sites, proceeding as if our Provo facility were inoperable. We personally take the backup tapes from the vault to the IBM facility to restore our entire computer and communications system. As one of our clients, you'll be given the opportunity to test on the IBM equipment and be sure you're familiar with the Contingency Plan. Though you may never face the reality of a disaster, our Disaster Recovery System ensures your peace of mind.
Full Service Statement Processing
With FPS GOLD’s Automated Mailing Service (AMS), you can have statements sent directly from the FPS GOLD facility to your customer, saving you time and money. Less handling also means fewer mistakes. With AMS, FPS GOLD can greatly improve your institution’s statement processing and distribution services.
